Sell Anything Anywhere Online

The easiest way to start selling today is to either get a job or sell online. If you choose the second option, I recommend you learn the fundamentals of selling and get on it. You don't even need a website to sell online today. You can start selling things on Amazon, Facebook, Instagram, Craigslist, eBay, Etsy, and many other platforms. There are so many online marketplace websites where you can list your products and services for sale.

Having your own website is a huge plus, and you can keep all of the revenue, but it is also a lot of work to create your site, market it and direct traffic to the site. More revenue, more work. Choose a payment method that works for you and your buyers!

If you're selling physical goods, you'll need to find out all the shipping logistics, prices, insurance, and timeline. So go to your local post office, UPS, or FedEx and learn the details. Make sure everything is clean, with no damages, and as promised in the offer regarding shipping. To ship purchased items timely and deliver them promptly will result in great customer service, thus referrals and repeated purchases. Be prepared to ship your items quickly.

Services can be sold online, too - think about ways to offer your services remotely in the digital realm or over the phone. Whether services or products, it all comes down to knowing your customer, understanding their problems and needs, and how to connect your products and services to the solutions that your potential customers are looking for. Who are they demographically? Why will they buy your product and not your competitors? Know your customer!

Be sure to set up and test your payment system, receipts, and shipping labels. Keep track of all the data for accounting and taxes by staying organized with spreadsheets as your sales grow. For certain products and recurring customers, you’ll want a customer relationship management tool or software.

Figure out what platform or marketplace you want to use to focus your efforts. Try all of them, follow the platform guidelines and see which platform yields more sales, and multiply your efforts there.

List your items for sale, including photos and descriptions. Taking professional photos doesn’t necessarily mean spending thousands of dollars on a photo shoot. You can get a great setup by spending $100-150. A couple of lights with a white background and your phone can take great pictures. Figure out how to maximize what you already have, natural light, photoshop, etc.

Post about your products and your services on social media platforms. Talk to people in the comment section under similar products or pages that might have your buyers. Using social media platforms to reach more buyers is free and effort based, perfect for a self-starter.

If you want to make some extra cash or even start a full-fledged business, selling online can be the way to go. Once you get the hang of it, you can always add your own website to the mix and keep all of the revenue for yourself.
